The client approached us with a vision of creating a modern and sophisticated look, while still retaining the traditional charm of the New-England aesthetic. Our team of experts collaborated with the homeowners and architect to design and install a range of architectural glazing products that would transform this stunning property and bring the client’s vision to life.
The SAS SF52 Curtain Wall entrance is a standout feature of this project. With a stunning 12-panel configuration, this grand entrance welcomes an abundance of natural light to flood the hallway, creating a bright and inviting entrance space whilst adding a modern and sophisticated touch to the overall design of the house.
Each vertical mullion of the curtain wall is designed to line up with the front door entrance. The concept of global alignment is important in high quality architectural glazing, with the consistent lining of sightlines and junctions offering a cohesive design.
SMART Alitherm 300 windows were installed across the entirety of the property. These windows are thermally efficient and low maintenance, providing maximum natural light and ventilation to the property while reducing energy costs. Installed in a square sash and bead design added to the elegant and contemporary look.
To the rear of the property, SMART Visofold 1000 bifold doors were installed in both a 5 pane and 3 pane configuration. These provide a seamless transition from the interior of the house to the outside patio space, creating a sense of space and freedom. The doors were also designed to be weather-resistant, providing a secure and long-lasting solution to the client’s needs.
Upstairs the team installed Juliette balconies with SMART Alitherm Plus double doors, adding a touch of further elegance and sophistication to the property whilst offering an excellent source of natural light and spectacular views of the surrounding garden. These doors are highly secure and offer excellent weather performance, which was critical for the client.
Above the east Juliette balcony features a gable end window, designed to add an additional element of house character consistent with the roof sightlines. SMART Alitherm 600 windows were used for their enhanced versatility. Two additional elements of glass enclose the double doors to offer a seamless integration with the overall design dimension.
