BRENCHLEY FIELDS

ARC Glazing was appointed by Clarendon Homes to supply and install the glazing package across four new homes at Brenchley Fields in Harrietsham, Kent.

Designed with a contemporary take on traditional rural architecture, the development combines timber-clad elevations, natural materials and generous areas of glazing to create homes that sit comfortably within their surroundings.

Our glazing package included a combination of uPVC windows, aluminium gable windows and aluminium bifold doors, carefully selected to complement the design of the homes.

One of the standout features of the development is the large aluminium gable glazing. The full-height glazed sections create impressive focal points within the homes while allowing substantial amounts of natural light into the living spaces and making the most of the surrounding views.

Due to the size and position of these glazed areas, solar control glazing was specified to the gable windows. This helps to reduce solar heat gain and minimise the risk of overheating, while still allowing the homes to benefit from the extensive natural light provided by the glazing.

Large aluminium bifold doors were also installed to create wide openings between the main living areas and the gardens. The slim aluminium frames maximise the amount of glass and provide a strong connection between the interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

A key part of the project was close collaboration with the Clarendon Homes team throughout the construction programme.

We worked closely with the site team to coordinate the glazing requirements, ensuring that specifications and installation details were carefully managed and that the finished installation met the required standards.

Maintaining a high level of quality while working to the construction programme was particularly important across the four plots. Through good communication and coordination between the teams, we were able to deliver the glazing package on time and to the quality expected by Clarendon Homes.

The completed homes showcase how carefully considered glazing can complement both traditional and contemporary architectural design. The combination of aluminium and uPVC provides the required performance across the development, while the larger areas of aluminium glazing and bifold doors create striking architectural features.
