FORGE VIEW
Located in Chislehurst, Kent, Forge View features a striking modern extension that makes the most of cutting-edge glazing design. Our team was appointed to supply and install the sliding door system, which serves as a central architectural feature in the project. The goal was to create a light-filled, open-plan space that seamlessly connects the interior to the garden, with clean lines and minimalist detailing throughout.
We installed Cortizo Slimline 20 sliding doors, known for their ultra-slim sightlines and smooth performance. These doors were used to wrap around the extension, providing a full-height glazed envelope that floods the living space with natural light and opens it entirely to the outdoors when required.
A key highlight of the installation is the floating corner configuration, where two sets of sliding doors meet at a corner with no fixed post. This creates a stunning visual effect when open, with the entire corner of the extension disappearing to offer unobstructed access to the outside—a true indoor-outdoor living experience.
To enhance the minimalist feel, the sliding door system was fitted with a level threshold, keeping the track flush with both internal and external floor finishes. This not only delivers a sleek, uninterrupted floorline but also improves accessibility and practicality. The entire system was finished in RAL 9005 Matt Black, a bold, timeless colour that complements the contemporary style of the extension while adding contrast and definition to the expansive glazing.
This Chislehurst extension is a perfect example of how well-executed glazing can elevate a space both visually and functionally. With its slim frames, full-height glass, and floating corner design, the result is a refined and modern addition to the home that feels connected, bright, and effortlessly stylish.
