Our team of experts worked closely with the homeowners at this stunning countryside property to craft a more updated and fresh modern design with a full bespoke package of architectural glazing solutions. The contemporary garden room extension allows indoor and outdoor areas to be merged, whilst other slim framed glazing elements allow floods of natural light to flow into the home.
The stunning glass box, garden room extension is the new focal area of the property’s modernised design, with a double height glazing elevation of structural gable end windows, slim bifold doors below and two large picture windows to the sides.
SMART Visofold 1000 slim bifold doors were elected, granting spectacular views of the garden whilst also maintaining functionality and versatility with their enhanced performance features. Installed in a 5-pane configuration, the doors minimally interrupt the patio space outside, whilst imitating the various sightlines perpetuating throughout the extension design.
Oversized SMART Alitherm 300 picture windows are the glazing showpiece of the glass box architecture. At 2.3 metres wide and 1.3 metres high, these beautiful windows flood the living area with natural light and afford uninterrupted views in an elegant picture view.
Every element of architectural glazing in the glass box extension is installed with solar-controlled glass. A fantastic performance feature option that offers excellent solar heat control and UV glare reduction, whilst still permitting high levels of natural light to enter the room.
SMART Alitherm 300 windows installed with a chamfered bead and sash can be seen on both levels of the property. One of the great features of the Alitherm 300 is the different bead and sash options available. Choice of the chamfered bead is typical for more traditional projects, whilst a flat square bead for a more contemporary, modern look. Finished in the same RAL7036 Matt colour as the sliding doors and picture window provides the perfect blend of traditional style and contemporary design. These windows not only look great but provide excellent thermal insulation and noise reduction.
SMART Visofold 1000 double doors were installed for an additional rear entrance to the centre of the property. Installed in a slim framed profile, the glass allows the interior space to unfold onto the patio and towards the gazebo – even when the weather requires the doors to be closed. These doors are not only visually appealing but also offered excellent security and weather resistance.
Finished in dual colour, RAL7036 Platinum Grey Matt outside and RAL White Matt inside, each aspect of architectural glazing offers a seamless connection with the rest of the property’s exterior and interior design.
