Our team worked closely with the homeowners to provide an array of architectural glazing that created a contemporary finish to their gorgeous rear extension, whilst seamlessly integrating with the existing traditional countryside property. The homeowners were looking for sophisticated and charming modern designs that would elevate their home, and succinctly complement other building materials to form a striking architectural contrast, including oak timber and brick with exposed structural features.

The glazing centrepiece of the project features the SMART Visofold 6000 Heritage Style bifold doors. Featuring the slimmest profiles of the SMART range, this easy-to-operate, highly-versatile bifold system is a fantastic option for large opening apertures, proficient of opening an entire wall to maximise light and space, yet offering an elegant, contemporary glazed façade when closed. These elegant doors are perfect for creating a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Above the bifold doors, SMART Alitherm 600 glazed gable ends were installed. These glazed gable ends deliver an excellent choice for introducing plenty of natural light, while creating a spectacular design element. With its advanced construction, the Alitherm 600 also provided excellent thermal efficiency for the property, achieving a remarkable U-value of 1.4 when combined with triple glazing.

To achieve a cohesive look, the team installed colour-matched aluminium pressings between these two glazing elements, as well as on the corner posts. These pressings  create a seamless and sophisticated finish that complements the other glazing products. The pressings are available in a range of colours, and we were able to match them to the RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey colour of the other glazing products.

SMART Heritage 47 Double Doors were installed to the right of the bifold doors.These doors are designed to deliver a modern twist on the traditional steel-like design, adding a touch of vintage charm to any property, while still providing the exceptional performance benefits of modern aluminium glazing.

Both the double doors and bifold doors were installed with 42mm dummy transoms, further elevating their authentic heritage style and delivering a cohesive look across the property.
